Common Cold

Common Cold

When you live in the universe of cancer, nothing is common. Take for example the "common cold."

Under normal circumstances a typical sniffle can be combatted with high doses of vitamin C or an over the counter remedy. Some chicken soup (Jewish penicillin), lots of fluids, extra bed rest and let it run its course.  But add Chemo to the mix and it's a whole new ball game (sorry to interrupt yours Dr. S).

Even a temp of 100.0+ is noteworthy and should be shared with the Med Team.  Let them determine how proactive to be - how aggressively (or not) to respond.   The answer still could be all of the aforementioned (with the added boost of an antibiotic), but the rules have changed, all the rules, even the rules governing the "common" cold.
