Friend-ily

Friend-ily

I’ve commented before within these “pages” on my relations relations; the world wide womb of nurturing I have been supported with by family members near and far during every phase of my treatment. Encouraging emails, positivity-inducing postcards, healing hugs and marvelous meals.

But I’ve also been touched deeply by friends who have provided the same therapeutic offerings, the same persistence of succor, the same levels of love. These members of my friend-ily (new and old), have consistently been by my side - though some are thousands of miles away.

There is a phenomenon that I have experienced when after a prolonged separation, a re-connection with distant friends collapses that chronological gap and we’re right back in the status of our relationship where we left off months or years prior.  I witnessed this theory in action once again recently during a visit to LA  -  a home-away-from-home from my past.  My friend-ily and I embraced warmly, laughed until we cried, cried tears of happiness, and rejoiced in reunion and recovery (for many of us in many ways).

They say that blood is thicker than water, but love knows no viscosity. Thanks again to my Cali Friend-ily.
